seasonal vertigo

Why do we feel dizzy, tired or nauseous in the spring? One possibility is vertigo. Dizziness or light-headedness can stem from various causes, including inner ear problems, low blood pressure, dehydration, medication side effects, and even stress or anxiety. Seasonal vertigo refers to a type of dizziness associated with seasonal changes. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), spring is a time when wind and dampness can be prevalent, potentially causing or exacerbating vertigo by affecting the body's Qi and blood flow. This can lead to imbalances that manifest as dizziness. In TCM, vertigo, or "Xuan Yun," is understood as either an excess (phlegm, stasis, cold, wind, fire) or deficiency (liver, spleen, kidney, qi, blood) condition affecting the head, often linked to issues with the liver's functional complex.

Acupuncture is a common TCM treatment for vertigo, with specific points targeted to regulate qi and blood flow to address imbalances. It can help manage vertigo naturally as well as reduce stress and enhance relaxation. It can ease vertigo symptoms without medication and potential side effects like drowsiness and dry mouth. Furthermore, unlike drugs that merely mask your symptoms, acupuncture for dizziness and balance addresses their root causes, relieving pressure and imbalance for lasting relief.
