suffering from acne

Acne is described as blemishes or pimples that sometimes result in scarring. Acne can be a problem during the teenage years as well as appear in adulthood.

Not having clear skin can affect your confidence and social life. Do you avoid pictures? Think twice about going out on that date or heading out to that special occasion because you feel embarrassed about your blemishes? Not having control of your skin and not knowing what your face will look like the next day can be scary. Especially when you don’t know what you are doing wrong or what you can do to help it. Trying different acne products without any improvement on your skin gets you nowhere but broke. This can be very frustrating.

The good news is that clear skin is possible, and you don’t have to feel hopeless anymore. Did you know that there are more solutions than just taking antibiotics or topical creams prescribed by your family doctor? These may not be giving you the results that you want, in addition to the unwanted side effects. Natural solutions help, especially when the reason for your acne is addressed. The cause of everyone’s acne is different.

Hormonal imbalances affect the skin by causing more oil and grease to be produced in the

pores leading to pimples. Some of these can be white heads, black heads or pimples under the skin and they can be quite painful. The hormones responsible are high levels of male hormones such as testosterone. This can occur in both women and men. Low levels of progesterone and high levels of estrogen can also be the culprits. We can check your hormone levels, either in the saliva or blood and see which natural herbs and supplements are right for you and your skin.

Food sensitivity testing is very important when it comes to the beauty of your skin and

reducing redness and inflammation. A special diet or blood test is done to identify the foods

that are uniquely sensitive to you. Removing these foods from the diet helps achieve clearer skin.

Low levels of certain vitamins and minerals can also cause pimples and clogged pores. It’s

important to know which supplements are important for you instead of taking random

supplements that don’t give you any results. Natural face washes and creams will also be

recommended during the consultation to give you a new daily skin care routine that gets you the results that you are looking for.

Remember, there is always a reason as to why acne happens, you just don’t wake up with it!

Find the reason why YOU are getting acne by booking an appointment with me, Dr. Michelle Salga, Naturopathic Doctor. Together we will find the treatment that is right for you and give you the results you want so you can live a confident and beautiful life.
